Company Overview

The Gossman Center for Advanced Healthcare Simulation at Swedish is a medical simulation center designed to advance the skills of professionals in critical clinical situations. It is the first simulation center in the Pacific Northwest to focus on pediatric and perinatal simulation but also focuses on other areas such as OB-GYN and ED.

Our mission is to offer a multidisciplinary training facility that is dedicated to providing high quality, state-of the-art education using medical simulation to promote skill acquisition, clinical decision-making, teamwork, and patient safety in a collaborative environment.

Simulation education at the Gossman Center benefits professionals by:

Company History

Since its inception in 1910 as a 24-bed hospital, Swedish Medical Center has grown into a 1,245-bed medical center comprised of five hospital campuses in the Seattle area - First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, Edmonds and Issaquah.

In addition to providing general medical and surgical care, Swedish is a regional referral center for treatment in the areas of oncology, cardiac care, high-risk obstetrics, neurosciences, orthopedic surgery and organ transplant. Swedish also has an impressive array of specialty programs that includes sleep medicine, addiction recovery, pediatric services, pain management and home-care services.

As part of Swedish’s commitment to provide a supportive environment, nurse managers participate in the delivery of patient care.
