Job Description:
Binghamton University is seeking a Clinical Instructor to join the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences in the Innovative Simulation and Practice Center (ISPC). This full-time, campus-based, 10-month position will focus on teaching, innovation, and clinically-driven scholarship.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction and guidance to undergraduate nursing students in simulation and lab practice, classroom, and/or clinical settings.
- Demonstrate effective skills and best practices for facilitating and debriefing simulation experiences.
- Development, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of simulation and lab experiences.
- Development and implementation of metrics and assessment tools.
- Clear communication with students regarding ISPC expectations.
- Clear communication regarding student performance with ISPC leadership, appropriate clinical faculty, and course coordinators.
- Coordination of ISPC activities, student rosters between ISPC, clinical faculty, and the undergraduate nursing program.
- Role model professional behavior for students at all times.
- Remain current with nursing best practices, general educational, and simulation curricular advances.
- Participation in faculty governance as required by Faculty By-Laws.
- Advising and mentoring students.
- Engage in Program and University committees as appropriate.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (or higher) in Nursing or related health professions degree.
- Current, unencumbered nursing license in NY and/or PA.
- Two or more years' clinical experience in a direct patient care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Matriculation in a doctoral program or an earned doctorate from an accredited university.
- Previous teaching experience in healthcare.
- Experience facilitating healthcare simulation.
- Certification in healthcare simulation education.
